Help and support for foreign students
Servus (or hello) to all foreign students!
First of all a warm welcome at LMU. It's great to have you here and we hope you're enjoying your time here.
Who are we and what do we do?
We're the student representatives for political science and the ones to talk to if you need any help with studying politics at LMU, information on the aptitude test, preparing for exams and the exams themselves, on what we do, and anything else you may want to ask us. Just send us an e-mail and we'll try to help the best we can. (We DO know a lot, yet, unfortunately, not everything).
What's going on right now?
The winter semester is coming to its end, final exams are approaching and quite a lot of papers must be submitted soon.
In case you're not so sure about the exams and what exactly they might look like, come and have a look at the finals from previous semesters that we collected. (We're also very thankful for any new exam sheets or an overview of questions from your exams that you will take soon.)
The aptitude test (Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren)
Based on the test that will take place on July 31st and the grade point average of your high school diploma, the department will determine whether you will be admitted into the program or not.
Generally, the test asks several questions that are supposed to asses your aptitude for studying political science. The questions are based on the literature that you are required to read for the test and that is described on the department's website. Reading the newspaper a couple of weeks beforehand is quite useful, too, but since you want to study the subject, we just assume that you do this anyway.
As for now, we wish all of you good luck on the test, with your exams, etc. and a wonderful summer.

Here are some helpful links for foreign students, the first one is a link to the department's information website for foreign students, the others are about activities for foreign students like language classes, etc.
